ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Linda Seelig has been practicing and studying
yoga for ~ nine years, beginning in 2001 while pregnant with her first child. She discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa
yoga a year later (from the World Wide Web). After practicing at home via David Swenson videos for almost a year (living
in a small town with a newborn), she was able to venture out and study with some of the first Americans to learn this system:
David Williams, David Swenson, and Tim Miller to highlight a few. She was also fortunate enough to practice under the
guidance of Ashtanga yoga guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath for two weeks during their 2005 World Tour in
Encinitas, CA. Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is one of the best discoveries she's ever encountered. It continually
transforms and enhances her life, one practice at a time.
Linda has her B.S. in Biology, and used to work in Cell
Biology research until getting married. Now she is a mommy with two boys, ages 8 and 5, a yoga instructor, and a
student once again. She is interested in Yoga Research, particularly the neurophysiology of the brain and body under the influence
of yoga, music and meditation. Also, integrating yoga with Physical Therapy, and helping to bridge the gap between
the yoga and scientific community.
She is a 200 hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance, in
Hatha/Vinyasa yoga.
