Yoga is almost
everywhere now. This is a good thing, it's irrevocably stupendous, to say the least. Some people tell me they are intimidated
to try yoga. I understand that feeling, but I say GIVE IT A SHOT AND SHOW UP! It's really worth it. If you don't like one
style, try another. It's like fruit. If we don't like one kind, do we stop there? Everyone is on their own journey, just as
you. And with great effort comes great benefit. On my website I briefly describe Ashtanga yoga, my personal favorite.
You can also read much more about it at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute website and at www.Ashtanga.com.
Ancient yogic wisdom reveals that if one approaches their yoga
practice with dedication, zeal, and consistancy over a long period of time, the true essence of yoga unfolds and we can indeed,
to quote Pattabhi Jois, "attain physical, mental and spiritual happiness." This road is nevertheless bumpy. It's
one long, bumpy ride full of ditches. It's how we go through them that make a difference. Do we plow through them and
damage the machinery? Maybe, sometimes. Hopefully we slow down next time, take it easier on ourselves. One focused breath,
a few attentive moments in our practice. But stay on the road, or keep coming back, because after the rain, the sun will shine.
And then, it will rain again...... Right now is right now, rain or shine.
